The Real Winner January 23, 2012

The real winner in the 2011/2012 NFL season is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  With all the attention focused on Tim Tebow and his faith it was okay for people to discuss and think about Jesus Christ and what faith in Him means to believers.

What has faith done for Tim Tebow’s?   It has given him the strength to believe in his own ability and to graciously accept the outcome after he has given his best.  Win or lose Tebow feels blessed and loved and that is where his heart is and that is what motivates him.  Tebow makes no apologies and is proud to openly profess his faith.  In Romans 1:16 Paul says “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes…”  This is what Mother Teresa’ said about our earthly performance, “God does not demand that I be successful. God demands that I be faithful. When facing God, results are not important.  Faithfulness is what is important.”

My assessment of Tim Tebow’s season and his impact on the NFL; this is what the professional sports needs more of. Hardworking, team inspiring, fan attracting, believers, giving their best efforts to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then thanking Him for their many blessings.  Ask Tim Tebow what he thinks about the season and he is most likely respond with this verse from 2 Samuel 22:33 It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.

Thanks Tim for bringing awareness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into so many lives, your faith is inspiring.
