The Real Winner

The real winner in the 2011/2012 NFL season is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  With all the attention focused on Tim Tebow and his faith it was okay for people to discuss and think about Jesus Christ and what faith in Him means to believers.

What has faith done for Tim Tebow’s?   It has given him the strength to believe in his own ability and to graciously accept the outcome after he has given his best.  Win or lose Tebow feels blessed and loved and that is where his heart is and that is what motivates him.  Tebow makes no apologies and is proud to openly profess his faith.  In Romans 1:16 Paul says “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes…”  This is what Mother Teresa’ said about our earthly performance, "God does not demand that I be successful. God demands that I be faithful. When facing God, results are not important.  Faithfulness is what is important."

My assessment of Tim Tebow’s season and his impact on the NFL; this is what the professional sports needs more of. Hardworking, team inspiring, fan attracting, believers, giving their best efforts to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then thanking Him for their many blessings.  Ask Tim Tebow what he thinks about the season and he is most likely respond with this verse from 2 Samuel 22:33 It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.

Thanks Tim for bringing awareness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into so many lives, your faith is inspiring.

Friends Have Asked

We have been asked "when should I/we begin our support?"  The answer is now.  We need your contributions to begin now so that we can build up our launch fund.  We cannot move into the next phase of our training (Pre-Field Training) until we have reached 85% of our monthly support (340 shares) and 85% of our launch fund (42,500).  By beginning your pledge now you're monthly contribution will help build our launch fund.

Thanks to all, keep praying for our success.

Orientation

We have now completed New Candidate Orientation and we are commissioned missionaries.  We have been assigned to the Greater Europe Mission's Italian Team, and will be living in Rome.  Orientation was a busy, emotional, exciting, exhausting, enlightening, joyful, wonderful, and loving week.  Our new family at GEM is loving and spiritual, we feel blessed to a part of GEM.

We now begin the support building phase of our mission journey, this will require much prayer and faith on our part, with love and prayers on your part.  It is only through the Holy Spirit working on your  heart that we will accomplish this phase.

We are ready to get in the field and begin our full time service to God. Keep us in your prayers.

What a Week!

On Monday we received our official invitation to Candidate Orientation which we accepted.  We are going to Monument, CO on October 29 for CO.

Then on Wednesday, I spoke with Peppo Biscarini, the GEM Leader for Italy, after discussing our assignment to the Rapid Response Team and our calling to serve in Italy, Peppo confirmed that we would be based in Rome.

We have begun our on-line training for orientation and things are moving along very fast now.  So keep us in your prayers.
